Neighbourhood Profile: Hamilton, North Vancouver
Hamilton is a unique area; a mix of residential homes, mainly townhouses and apartments, businesses and recreation. It is located to the North and South of Marine Drive and meets the Ocean on the Southerly side. Many of the strata properties are sought after for their convenient location which is walking distance to amenities and transportation. Mosquito Creek park begins here. There is a wonderful children’s play area and grassy field, as well as the beginning of the Mosquito creek trail which heads North to Forest Hills and Upper Delbrook.
Over the last decade this end of Marine Drive has seen a revitalization. The Automall is located over an overpass at the foot of Fell Avenue and is home to many car dealerships. To the South of the automall is the Harbourside Business Park, which is home to many local businesses including the popular Thomas Haas Chocolaterie, Louis Gervais Fine Foods & Catering and Spa Utopia. Local residents also enjoy the trails that lead to the waterfront park, a haven for dogs who enjoy a dip in the ocean.

Recreation in Hamilton, North Vancouver
- Mosquito Creek Park & Trails The Mosquito Creek Trail begins at Fell and 16th Avenue in North Vancouver and follows the Mosquito Creek Ravine up Grouse Mountain to where the power lines cross the Creek. Nicely secluded in an urban environment, the trails is a haven for dog owners, and can be ridden on a mountain bike in the uphill direction only. Enter the lower part of the trail through the park at Fell and West 17th St. Proceed up the east side of the creek all the way to the William Griffin Pool, then cross Queens Road and ride up Del Rio until you find the gravel trail. Single-track leaves the main trail about 400 meters up the trail. Follow this section of single-track up to the pedestrian bridge over the creek.

Community: Harbourside Business Park North Vancouver’s Premiere Business Park. Originally a lumber mill and log sort site, Concert acquired the waterfront site in 1996 and began transforming it into a business park. Today, Harbourside is a daytime-oriented business park that contains nearly 900,000 square feet of commercial space that provides over 3,900 jobs to the City. Despite being North Vancouver’s premier business park, challenging economics and decreased demand have made it difficult to develop the remainder of these lands as originally envisioned. Harbourside is also home to King’s Mill Walk, the City’s longest stretch of waterfront park with nearly 1.5 kilometres of waterfront paths — designed, constructed and donated by Concert.
