Neighbourhood Profile: Lynnmour

Lynnmour is located at the North end of the 2nd narrows bridge and is one of the most affordable neighbourhoods in North Vancouver. Lynnmour is known for being home to Capilano University. There are many low priced apartments within walking distance of the University, many of which are available as rentals.North of the University, locals love to ride their bikes, rollerblade and walk along the paved path at the Seymour Demonstration Forest! Rice lake, located within the forest, is a small lake where you can fish for trout. Also located just north of the University campus is the North Vancouver Cemetery, and Boal Chapel. Also nestled amonst the trees on Lilloet Road is the North Shore Equestrian Centre.

Recreation:

  • Lower Seymour Regional Conservation Reserve (Also known as the Seymour Demonstration Forest) The Seymour Demonstration Forest multi-use trail is part of the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, directly south of the Seymour Watershed. The trail, for the most part, parallels the vehicle access road to the Seymour Dam, although it is rare that you actually see the access road itself. The trail is wide, paved, and varies in elevation and direction. It is well-used by cyclists, joggers, and inline skaters. Picnic areas and pit toilets are scattered along the 11km (one-way) path at regular intervals. Families and groups use this trail often. Please keep the speeds reasonable and be aware of all users; fatal collisions have occurred on this trail in the past.
  • Rice Lake This small lake in the Seymour Demonstration Forest – North Vancouver is stocked with trout. Its close proximity to Vancouver allows you to get away from the city and forget the world. This lake is also a good place to ice skate when the weather gets cold in the winter. Fishing licenses are required for adults, but children under 16 years of age do not require a license. Details: Rice Lake is a short 5 minute walk from the entrance of the Seymour Demonstration Forest. To get there, go over the 2nd Narrows bridge and take the 2nd exit north to Capilano College/Lillooet Road. Go past Capilano College, and the cemetery, and follow the signs.   • North Shore Equestrian Centre The North Shore Equestrian Centre offer horse enthusiasts riding lessons and horse training by qualified and certified coaches, a school horse lesson program, great summer camp program, horse boarding, shows, clinics and much more. Located on the doorstep of acres of wilderness trail access in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve.
