Neighbourhood Profile: Pemberton NV
Pemberton is a small area bordering West Vancouver to the West and Marine Drive to the South partially. Many residents choose this neighbourhood for its close proximity to Lions Gate bridge and amenities on Marine Drive.
Woodcroft estates is a unique community of apartment buildings located in the Pemberton area close to the Capilano River. There is 24/7 manned security gives residents safety. There are 6 concrete highrises with over 1200 apartment units which were built on a 13 acre piece of property in the 1970’s. There is a resident manager for each building. There is a pool, weight room and pool table & lounge for use by the residents.
The area located to the South of Pemberton Heights features some 33 foot lots and larger lots with ranchers and some character homes. Prices in the Pemberton area are some of the most affordable in North Vancouver and a good place for first time home buyers looking to call the North Shore home.
This is also an area where many visitors will stay in North Vancouver. There are 5 motels located within steps of each other, the Travelodge, Grouse Inn, North Vancouver Hotel, Comfort Inn & Suites and Best Western Capilano Inn.
Recreation:
The Bowser Trail
The Bowser Trail is a short walking trail in North Vancouver that winds through Lower Capilano. It’s surrounded by the busiest streets in the area. At one end it starts/ends behind Save-On Foods, at the other it joins Capilano Regional Park near the Capilano River. It’s a local entrance to the unbelieveable trail running the North Shore of Vancouver has to offer and a short link-up for a few of the urban trail routes in the area.
Restaurants:
Earls Tin Palace is technically located just outside of the Pemberton area in West Vancouver, but most locals refer to its location as North Vancouver as it lies on the Eastern side of the Lions Gate Bridge.
A local favourite with delicious food, great drinks, and a fun atmosphere whether you are out with the family or friends watching the game in the lounge. Their patio is packed on Summer evenings.
